USA-TV 1 & 2 (1996)
From the late 1970s onward, Thomas Degen captured the visual glitches that appeared on television screens. Every TV system generated unique distortions, with the U.S. NTSC system often producing more unpredictable, erratic effects than Germany’s PAL standard. Some jokingly claimed that NTSC stood for “Never The Same Color.”
The photographs were taken during powerful storms in Miami Beach, using 35mm analog film.
